What is it?
Reprogramming the factory ECU.
Cars come "de-tuned" from factory mainly due to emissions regulations. Reflashing unleashes the full potential of your car.
What is it?
Reprogramming the factory ECU.
Cars come "de-tuned" from factory mainly due to emissions regulations. Reflashing unleashes the full potential of your car.
Main Features
It is possible to adjust every parameter eg. idle control, cam control, fan control, fuel/ignition maps
Application
Suits standard cars to mildly modified cars. Limited by airflow meter.
We can reflash Evo 5-9, Evo 10 and turbo-charged Subaru's 2001 onwards.
Nissans can be reflashed using NIStune. Compatible models can be found here.
Set-Up Costs
Evo: Nil
Subaru: Nil
Nissan: NIStune board needs to be installed onto the factory computer. We supply, fit and tune NIStune for $1100.
What is it?
It manipulates standard airflow and crank signals sent to the standard computer. This enables control over air/fuel ratio and ignition timing but there is a limit to how much the signals can be manipulated.
Main Features
Haltech Interceptor:
Ability to adjust fuel mixtures, ignition timing and boost control.
Application
Vehicles with entry level modifications.
Limited to about 25% increase in injector size and ±25-35% ignition timing adjustment.
Set-Up Costs
Low wire -up costs.
Tuning Costs
Low tuning costs. Typically, we charge around $385
What is it?
An aftermarket computer is wired into the standard computer.
The standard computer still controls everything except fuel, ignition and some auxiliaries.
Main Features
Some aftermarket computers' adjustments are not as precise as the standard computer so leaving the standard computer to control idle, fuel pump, etc may be a better option.
With late model cars, the standard ecu controls everything from stability control, ABS, drive-by-wire, etc making it impossible to remove the standard ecu completely.
Application
Heavily modified street cars
Unit Costs
Kits start from:
Haltech Sprint $1089
Haltech PS1000 $1845
Haltech PS2000 $2345
EMS Stinger $1245
EMS Motorsport Series $1595
Set-Up Costs
Extra installation costs involved. Wire-ups start from $330.
Tuning Costs
Save on tuning time and costs as there are less adjustments required
What is it?
The aftermarket computer controls every aspect of your engine including idle control, fan, fuel pump, auxiliaries, etc
Main Features
Haltech Platinum Sport series features a 2 step anti-lag, launch control, electronic boost control, dual mapping, inbuilt map sensor, nitrous switching, V-TEC control and inbuilt turbo timer to name a few.
Application
Well suited to heavily modified engines, engine conversions and race cars
Pricing
Kits start from:
Haltech Sprint $1089
Haltech PS1000 $1845
Haltech PS2000 $2345 Haltech Platinum Pro $2445
EMS Stinger $1245
EMS Motorsport Series $1595
Set-Up Costs
Some vehicles have plug and play harnesses available.
Extra installation costs if wire-up is required. Wire-ups start from $330.
Tuning Costs
More dyno time is required so expect to pay more for tuning.
Things to consider:
- Budget
- What features will you need to retain eg. variable cam control
- Compatibility with your set-up
- Is it plug and play? This saves on installation costs and is easy to return to standard
- Will it be a full stand-alone or wired-up with your standard ecu?
- Is the person tuning your car familiar with that brand?
- After sales support
